Yay, the snow is gone

I'd much rather have rain than snow.  At about 4 pm yesterday the snow stopped and it began to warm up. Now there is no snow left, well, except maybe on some areas in the woods around us where its still cooler.

Had class today and will be working on homework all weekend. I am semi-worried about a history test I have on Monday, the dates are kicking my ass.

Joe has been trying to talk me into staying in this house for another year. ( Sound familiar?) Yeah, so 10 months ago he told me "This house is killing me." and now he wants to stay. Not permanently, just until we've lived here 2 years so we dont get hit with capital gains taxes. We moved in March 06 so that would mean we will be here until March 08.  I dont know anything about taxes so I'm not sure how much capital gains will be.  Will it be worth it to stay another year? He says they only tax the profit you make on the house, is that right?  So if we bought it for 199,900 and sold it for 240,000.....would we be taxed on the 40,100 we made? What percent?  I dont want to stay here but he's bullying me into it.  I dunno, I was planning on putting the house on the market this April. Now I dont know.
