Sept. 30

Isabel wiped us out for quite awhile. We just got power back 3 days ago. The kids went back to school yesterday on a two hour delay, which really screws up our world. I'm working at Bass now full-time 8am-5 pm five days a week and possibly Saturdays as well. I like it so far, its better than folding clothes.

We still have trees leaning dangerously in the back yard. Our next door neighbor seems not to care, we havent seen him in a week. He has a big hole in his roof, you'd think he'd be out here trying to fix it. Anyway, I have to bolt, it takes me 40 minutes to get to work.

Sept 18

Ok, so we woke up this morning to a tiny bit of rain and some mild winds. I guess Isabel made landfall but we arent feeling it. I swear the only thing open here is Home Depot and 7-11. If it stays like this we may not even get hard rain. I'll keep you posted.

Sept. 17

Isabel is about 1/2 a day away right now. I'm not worried too much,, well, maybe alittle. My biggest worry is the trees, I have so many and they're huge. I found the number for my homeowners insurance and I'm just hoping for the best. We finished putting all our backyard stuff up, got lots of water and filled the cars up with gas. Now we wait. Nothing will be open tomorrow, half of the area has evacuated. I bet the hurricaine fizzles out before it even reaches us, people always make a bigger deal about these things than they should.

I had orientation on Monday and Tuesday for Bass. Wednesdays orientation was cancelled onna count of Isabel. I start work on Monday at 8 am. I'm very excited, they have great benefits. The store is incredible and they carry soooo much stuff. I'll be working in Marine to begin with, at least I wont be folding clothes anymore! YAY!

Sept. 12

They called! It was late, about 5:30pm, but they called and offered me a full-time position. I have to go in on Monday and do a drug screening. I'm pretty happy.

Sept. 10

Today Bass called Old Navy, finally. That means they should be calling me soon. Andrea said that they dont want me to leave but I explained to her that I need full-time and the pay stinks. Bass is going to be a much better environment too.

Sept. 8

I picked up my schedule on Saturday and I was only given 5 hours for next week! FIVE. I was livid. So I go to Jim (our Operations manager) and let him know I cant live on 5 hours, I need more. So blah, blah, blah, we didnt make enough money last week and payroll is short blah blah blah. Anyway, I manage to squeeze 12 more hours out of him, which still sucks but is better than 5. Old navy is seriously on my last nerve. I'm so worried/crazy/anxious about Bass calling me back, I dont go anywhere without my phone. I'm hoping they call this week.
